QuickBooks Online will by default enter the business’s name as the vendor name you have on file. Fortunately, most small businesses only have to concern themselves with 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC (new for 2020). Starting in 2020, nonemployee compensation will be reported on Form 1099-NEC instead of in Box 7 of 1099-MISC.
